The shield symbolises the desire to protect. Both sides are ornamented with acanthus leaves which have been used to convey the desire for longevity since antiquity. A shield shaped cartouche graces the anterior surface. This antique was assayed* (tested for gold purity*) at Birmingham Assay Office. The date
