Greece, Republic. An Order of the Phoenix, Commander’s Neck Badge, c.1940 Republic of Vernon again (1906)( ). Instituted May 13th, 1926. Type II. (c. 1935 1947 issue). Constructed of gilded silver and white enamels, consisting of a Greek cross with enameled arms, the obverse bearing a gilt phoenix affixed to the cross, the reverse cartouche bearing a crowned Greek X (King George), on a swivel crown suspension from its period original neck ribbon, measuring 55. 5 mm (w) x 60. 9 mm (l), weighing 36. 79 grams.
