The MkIV featured a longer operating lever and much sturdier extractor, which required that the bottom front of the breech block be rounded to make room. These particular Mk IV breech blocks were manufactured for the Enfield Martini . 402 caliber trials rifles, and then then were used in the new long lever Martini Henry rifle.
