This is a wonderful British WWII Royal Navy Ensign, which looks to be of heavy wool or linen construction. These were known as the "White Ensign", and were the main battle flag of the ship. This large example, measuring approximately 6 feet by 12 feet (70" x 145"), would have been used for a capital ship such as a small battleship. We previously had a flag from the HMS Rodney, a British Nelson class battleship, which
