Constructed of blackened magnetic iron, consisting of a Cross Patte, the obverse with its arms joined through the quadrants by a circular laurel wreath, bearing a central monogram of Grand Duke Friedrich August, topped by a royal crown and situated above a date of 1914, the reverse with a barrel hinge and tapering vertical pinback
