This is a handsome Imperial German M1889 style private purchase cavalry presentation sword associated directly with the Magdeburgisches Husaren Regiment Nr. 10, or 10th (Magdeburg) Hussars, by its etched regimental inscription. The sword follows the familiar Model 1889 cavalry form with a straight thrusting blade, basket hilt, folding inner guard section, molded black grip, and steel scabbard. Unlike a government
