This wool officer's filed cap was made in TOKYO before WW2 and bears a trade label IN ENGLISH showing faux coat of arms over:

four battalions jumped off into a hail of small arms fire from snipers hidden in the trellised vineyards on the east bank

the head including the Axe and support straps are a further 17" in length

Every part on this display gun is original WWII manufacture other than the receiver, which has been completely replaced except for the very front with the magazine well and barrel latch.
