This was once a lovely French Musket, but it has seen hard service, probably in the U. S. Civil War. Afterwards it was shortened slightly and half stocked for Civilian use, so now a bit of an old lady. The original sights were removed, and just a shotgun style front brass bead is installed now. Cleaned and restored to be put in its best light. The lock functions, but fires at half cock, which is very close to the
