These came out of an English Country Estate with an affluent history and may well have been left over from the old Slave Trade. As much as we would deplore it today, 250 years ago the Slave Trade was considered respectable and frankly a good financial proposition. So here they are, made of hand wrought iron with an integral lock for one ankle and and a running lock on the other solidified once attached to the master
