The trigger guard does bear Gurkha Battalion markings as does the top arm of the brass butt plate

The eyepiece is still present and is in one piece but is dried out with cracking present

Inside lining and sweatband with no issues and wonderful maker marking

The helmet retains its distinctive two piece Saxon wappen, tall officers spike, gilt chinscales, both officers cockades, lined visors, leather sweatband, silk skull cap, and original size label. Its Model 1897 configuration would have remained appropriate for wear through the WWI period.
