Germany, Imperial. A Gold Grade Wound Badge consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac the obverse engraver marked with(Verwundetenabzeichen in Gold). Constructed of gilded brass, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central raised Stahlhelm on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a crimped hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 38. 01 mm (w) x 43. 19 mm (h), weighing 10. 1 grams, in extremely fine condition.
