This is a very fine Italian Flintlock Pistol, made in the typical 18th century style. It has a long barrel of almost 15 inches, with an overall length of the pistol is 22 inches. The fittings are all of engraved brass, with a highly decorative side plate in floral scrollwork design, with a face embossed in a circle. The "long eared" butt cap culminates in a grotesque mask, typical for European pistols of the period.
