This is a really nice example of the typical brown leather hardshell P 08 holster, which was still standard issue for many soldiers during WWI. In 1916 an order came for holsters to be changed to a black color, but this holster was made before that time, and escaped being dyed or painted after manufacture. The holster is marked on the inside of the holster top flap with FAR4 1911 in ink, which are Imperial German
