We recently took it into New York City to our regular club meeting and showed this Musket to a very well known American Author and Collector of Revolutionary War Muskets and he immediately told us what we had

model ANG6530 by American Optical Company offered in very good condition

you could count his ribs and everyone in his body

The gun was a rifled muzzle-loader

This is just in great condition, showing very very little use. The 7" octagonal barrel becomes round toward the muzzle bears the Maker's Cartouche on the breech, which appears to read : AL BFR DY is also signed in silver inlay script on the barrel. We have not been able to locate this maker, but there were many during the time. The writing is unfortunately very hard to make out, but seems to say: Fabricado Por Allendi en
