This is an Austrian Percussion Lorenz style musket most probably imported for use in the Civil War that was then cut to half stock for civilian use. This musket features a round to octagonal 33 inch barrel, with faded proof marks and the maker's name FRED. FRUWIRTH stamp on the breech. It also features brass mounts, including a "Jaeger" style trigger guard, with a nice cheek rest on the left side of the butt stock.
