This is an excellent condition totally genuine German World War Two rail road eagle used to attach to the front of locomotives and box cars during the reign of the Third Reich

with matching Blau (Blue) piping along the top edge and flanking either side of the band

Each side of the helmet had an "ear cut-out" that was designed to accommodate the earphones found on the cloth and leather flight helmets

This indicates 1941 manufacture by ERMA-Erfurter Maschinenfabrik B Geipel GmbH

restored with a correct period liner and partial reproduction chin strap
