Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Grand Duchy. An Order Of The Griffon, Commander’s Cross, C.1916 Hold Centennial Wilhelm Medal(Greifenorden, Komteurkreuz). Instituted 15 September 1884 by Friedrich Franz IV. (1884 1918 issue). In silver gilt, consisting of a Maltese Cross with red enameled arms, obverse with a central gilt medallion depicting a raised Griffin, the reverse featuring red enamels, the twelve oclock arm with a pebbled fan with a loop accommodating a suspension ring connecting to a period original shortened neck ribbon, measuring 61. 60 mm (w) x 66. 62 mm (h),
