with a lovely patina of overall

and data plates indicate that it was overhauled in June 1987

and has a good amount of oxidation on the exterior

This cap is a wonderful service used example of a German WWII Wehrmacht Heer Army Infantry Officer's Schirmmtze (visor cap), and it really looks the business. It still has the original crown stiffener installed, so the shape is still well retained, though it does have a somewhat "relaxed" curved shape to the crown. It features lovel feldgrau (field gray) wool gabardine construction with a forest green "badge cloth"
