This is a lovely iron framed "boxlock" style flintlock pocket pistol dating to approximately 1790 1810, and marked clearly on the lock with J. & W. Richards on the left and LONDON on the right. There were many London gunmakers with "Richard" or "Richards" as their surname. We believe that the J is most likely John Richards, who worked 1760 1821, and "W could be a William Richards. We have seen several other examples
