Ken Wright Cellars, Dundee Hills, Guadalupe Vineyard, Pinot Noir 2018 Zinfandel 96+ (5/2021)in original carton 93 points Vinous Shimmering ruby red. Assertive cherry cola, red berry preserve and mocha scents are sharpened by a smoky mineral flourish. Energetic, smoke tinged red and dark berry flavors deepen with air and pick up suggestions of spicecake and candied licorice. Smoothly combines depth and energy and finishes with building sweetness and gentle tannic grip, leaving a repeating cherry note behind. Best after 2023.
