The opposite side has a large winged 8-ball flanked by the 8th Air Force shoulder sleeve insignia on the left and bombardier badge on the right

compiled in February 1944 by the Yokosuka Naval Communications School

It also still bears the mostly clear roll stamped marking on the left side of the barrel

An alternative is to bend the flaps back and tie them behind the head
