Constructed of silvered feinzink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, surrounding a Heer style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, situated above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, the reverse with an integral hinge and vertical pinback meeting a large rounded catch, maker marked with the logo of F. W. Assmann & Shne, Ldenscheid, with a die code of 3 and showing Assmanns classic ejector pin
