It is a very nice U. S. Navy Model 1852 Dress sword, fitted with a very nice 29 inch long pipe back blade, with 2 3 of it with etched decorations. Most of these are nice foliate decoration, including stands of arms with E. PLURIBUS UNUM and U. S.. The sword measures 35 1 2 inches overall, and is contained in a fine leather scabbard that is brass mounted, with knotted rope base fittings for the
