Manufactured by the Adams and Westlake Company of Chicago and Philadelphia this Kerosene Oil Lantern is embossed ADLAKE and bears copious patent dates inside under the detachable oil burner ranging from 1903 to 1913

Actually developed by Lovell-McConnell Corporation of New Jersey in 1908 these quickly became the standard for motorcars and were commonly used as AIR RAID ALARMS in London during the First World War for Zeppelin attacks

which was placed on the right side of the receiver just behind the closed bolt handle
