These bodies were made from a single piece of Hadfield Manganese steel that was produced by the Carnegie-Illinois & Sharon Steel Corporations

Presumably it was taken after the massive British defeat at ISANDLWANA

Size - 13" long x 5 3/4 " wide x 3" wide

It is marked BRESCIA over an 1884 date on the barrel

This is a nice example of a German Krimschild metal shield award, which has been removed from a uniform, so at present there is no fabric included. The shield is in good shape, but does show plating loss and some rust, as these are made with brass plated steel. The back plate is also missing, and one of the four clips has broken off.
