WW1 Imperial German (Jawless Lion Head) Artillery Officer’s Sword 1915 Dated second smaller knife is missingThis is one variation of the Lion head sword called the Jawless" or "Half lion head" where the lion has no lower jaw. Brass D guard hilt stamped with inspection marks on the backstrap and cross guard. The handle is wrapped in ray skin (some missing from use) and has a double twisted wire wrap. This piece is decorated with floral designs and crossed cannons on the langet. The nickel plated blade is slightly curved and thick. Date 1915 with inspection
