This ocean was teeming with life, including a massive amount of ammonites. Over time, they died, and their shells were fossilized. Today, we can find these fossils preserved in sedimentary rock. Now and then, we come across a rare black ammonite fossil. These fossils are unique because they likely got their color from the infusion of the
